Debra A. Norton
Joining Paul William Beltz, P.C. in 2001, Debra A. Norton heads up our firm's appellate practice. Debra possesses extensive knowledge in the areas of personal injury litigation and insurance coverage issues.
She started her collegiate career at the University of Wisconsin at Superior (B.A. Magna Cum Laude 1975) and then traveled east to the State University of New York at Buffalo (J.D. Cum Laude). While at UB, Debra was chosen as an editor for the Buffalo Law Review, based upon her academic credentials and legal writing skills. She also instructed students in the Legal Research & Writing Program and tutored in the minority student program.
Upon graduation, Debra began her career as a confidential law assistant with the NYS Supreme Court - Appellate Division. Prior to her employment with Paul William Beltz, P.C., she gained further experience in private practice and in the public sector with Damon & Morey, the Erie County Water Authority and Block & Colucci, P.C.
Debra has chaired the Erie County Bar Association's Appellate Practice Committee and served on the Erie County Bar Association Judiciary Committee and the New York State Bar Associations Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law Committee. Debra also takes great pride in being a founding member of the WNY Chapter of the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York.
She is highly regarded among her peers for her legal writing and research skills, and makes herself readily available day and night to tackle any tough legal issues that arise during the firm's trial practice.
In her free time. Debra has served on the town of Amherst planning board where she focuses on helping homeowners and the preservation of green space.
